Fact or Fiction: The Hooded Man Ritual

In recent years there have been many new "Paranormal Games" that have been invented. Many speculate that they are just stories that derived from the CreepyPasta site, but others swear that they have attempted these rituals and have had very real experiences. Many people that say they have attempted these rituals have many warnings after they tell their account of events, telling readers to never try these rituals because bad things can and will happen. This is the Hooded Man Ritual. Many other bloggers have written about this ritual, but simply give the instructions on how to perform this ritual. I plan to give information, and then give my own personal opinion on whether or not this is Fact or Fiction. I do not condone that anyone try this ritual for them selves. I repeat DO NOT try this. There are a few requirements.

Players: One

Requirements:

-2 black cords

-A rotary phone.

-Matches or a Lighter

-A watch

-Salt

-Sage smudge stick.

Instructions:

1. Before beginning, you must preform a cleansing ritual, where you plan to perform the Hooded Man Ritual. Light the sage smudge stick and cleanse the area you are working in, around the front door, and spread salt in front of the doorway.

2. Shut all the doors and windows. Draw all the curtains shut.

3.Turn off all lights and electronic devices: cell phones, TV's.

4. Set the two black cords and the lighter or matches near the phone.

5. Empty your pockets of any protection items, but you need to keep the watch on your person.

6. Ritual must be performed at night.

7. Sit down in front before the phone and count to 13. Then leaving the phone on the hook, dial the number: 20496888.

8.Tie one black cord around he receiver, securely enough to where you are able to lift the receiver off the hook... then lift the receiver off the hook, using only the black cord, then dial the number: 25515823.

9. count to 13 and speak the following into the receiver: "Hello? I need a cab."

10. Untie the first back cord and and replace it with the second one. Making sure to burn the first black cord, if not immediately, but right after the ritual is complete.

11. Open the curtains and see if there is a cab waiting for you outside.

12. Exit the building, lock the door behind you. open the cab door, climb in and lock the cab door behind you. Lay down and go to sleep.

13. When you wake up, immediately check the time. If you watch reads any time other than 3:30. exit the cab and reenter your home within 2 minutes. Then follow steps to compete the ritual.

14. If your watch does read 3:30 a.m. Go back to sleep.

15. When you awaken for the second time you will find yourself on an unfamiliar highway with man wearing a hood behind the wheel.

16. DO NOT DO ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:

-Panic

-Attempt to exit the cab as its moving.

-Speak to or look at any other passengers the cab my have picked up.

17. When you are ready to end your ride learn close to the hooded mans ear and say the following very clearly, slowly, and deliberately: "I have reached my destination" You will then fall asleep one last time and should awaken inside the place where you started.

18. Once you have returned, you must complete the ending part of the ritual.

19. Seat yourself by the phone once more and dial the following: 200082.

20. Use the black cord to lift the receiver off the hook and set it down. Speak the following into the receiver: "Thank you for the ride."

21. Untie the black cord from the receiver and burn it, then bury the ashes of both it and he first cord in the ground, and scatter the salt over the top of the burial site.

22. Perform another cleansing ritual.

Many people have reported sights of gruesome things along that unfamiliar highway. according to one Reddit user: makayladoesrituals, the ritual does work and had no ill side effects. But other people claim to have had horrible happenings afterwards. They claim to have brought something back with them.

Now for my own personal opinions:

I believe that this ritual is something not to be messed with. Even though some of the details seem to be bit vague. I feel as though this has the potential to invite something into this world, that may be unintentionally brought back, or even open a portal to this realm. As many other sites have said, this is a game that should not be played. You never know what you ma be dealing with, or where you are going when you enter that cab. So over all in my opinion this is something that has the potential to be both, fact and fiction. I feel as though this could easily be an Urban Legend, that does have some truths to it.
